Car Story or Interesting Facts

One of the first production performance cars from Cadillac under the "V" banner. The STS-V (not to be confused with the CTS-V) was a limited production vehicle built over a four-year period from 2006-2009, with just 2,503 units produced. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the STS-V, and this example is one of only 1,306 built for the 2006 model year.

While overshadowed by its CTS-V sibling, the STS-V remains the only production Cadillac powered by the hand-built, supercharged 4.4L Northstar LC3 V8, producing 469 horsepower and capable of nearly 180 mph. Each STS-V engine features a forged steel crankshaft, upgraded and strengthened internals, and an Eaton supercharger producing 12 psi of boost resulting in the most powerful Cadillac sedan ever produced at the time.

The engine and 6 six automatic transmission propels the luxury sedan from 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds. Combined with Brembo brakes, unique V-Series suspension tuning, and aggressive styling cues, the STS-V offered world-class performance while preserving Cadillac's signature comfort and refinement.

Today, the STS-V remains one of the rarest and most overlooked modern Cadillacs. As the only supercharged Northstar-powered production vehicle ever built, it represents a unique chapter in Cadillac's performance history and an important milestone in the evolution of the V-Series brand.
