1979 Pontiac Trans Am
Atlantis Blue. 403 CID V8, 4 barrel, turbo 350 automatic, 3.08 limited slip rearend.
Power steering, power brakes, power windows, air conditioning, cloth interior.
Factory T-tops.
One owner car. Wife purchased new in November of 1978 after graduating high school.
Much of this car’s life from 1981 to 1985 was spent bracket racing at Edgewater Raceway Park in Cleves Ohio. This car ran a consistent 14.94 quarter mile at 91 miles an hour.
That time and speed is slow by today’s standards but was pretty quick for the early 80s with a mostly stock car.
Although the transmission has been rebuilt for harder shifts and there is a B&M Quick Silver shifter installed, the car stock.
Restoration is needed but the car is currently unrestored. It is only original once.
This car was my wife’s daily driver until about 1985 when we started planning a family.
Milage since the mid 80s has been limited to about a few hundred miles a year.
