| Car Story or Interesting Facts | This !969 Ford Mustang Mach1 was built very early in October, 1968 and was factory equipped with the 428 Cobra Jet engine with the optional shaker hood. !969 was the first year of Mach 1 production. Factory 4 speed with front power disc brakes. The summer of 2001, I bought the car in Jacksonville, FL as a restoration in progress that the owner had lost interest in. As the car was far from roadworthy I had it trailered to my home. After numerous family commitments of mine were met the restorer started work in Nov of 2012. 2 and 1/2 years later the car was done. New interior, rebuilt engine and a fresh paint job in the factory original color, dozens of new parts and on the road finally in May, 2015. |
